Electrosurgical

Electrosurgery is the division of tissues by a high-frequency current applied locally with a metal instrument or needle. Electrosurgical instruments include electrosurgery blades, laparoscopic electrodes and electrosurgery forceps including one or more electrodes. Electrosurgical instruments are used by an estimated 85% of general surgeons in the United States for cutting, coagulating and ablating tissue. Follow manufacturer's recommendations for sterilization/high-level disinfection (e.g., endoscopic instruments).
